How To Create Joy This Week (& Beyond...)

The practice of gratitude is something that can change our lives.

Truly.

All too often we focus on what we DON'T have, or what we DON'T like about our houses--the ways we feel it lets us down.

In this week leading up to Thanksgiving--and maybe all the weeks following--if we choose to focus on the things that we DO have, the lovely little blessings in our lives, the roof over our heads, the warmth of our heat, the company of the people we love, and all the many graces in our daily life--what we have becomes enough-- and then some.

And this leads to JOY.

Your challenge (and mine) this week, is to pay attention to and make note of the things you are grateful for. Sharing your observations & joy at the Thanksgiving dinner table is extra credit!

How To Create a More Abundant Life at Home...

HI There!!

Things in life have been moving at such a fast pace…and as a result, I haven’t been showing up here to share things with you in weeks!!

I am finally back though…and so happy to share this week’s video with tips for you (& me!) to follow to be sure home is a place that nurtures us and creates abundance. 💗

OH, and please do stop by on Facebook and say hi! I am posting there nearly every day and would love to see you there!!

Is it the SAME COUCH?? Really? (A Quick BEFORE & AFTER! )

One of my great joys in doing what I do, is to take a room that feels tired and old to my client, and make it completely new—even if most of the main pieces in the room never change.

This living room was ready for a reboot—and my client was ready for it to be rebooted!! —but she knew she didn’t want to buy new furniture…

NO PROBLEM! :D

Fresh paint, new hardwood floors and new positioning for the couches—and we were off to a great start with a more open and dynamic feel for the room.

Also added to the space were new bookcases to fill a large mostly blank wall, lovely curtains to add softness, and a stunning area rug adding a modern pattern and fresh feel.

New pillows and a throw on the couches make them feel completely updated and ready for another decade.

The finishing touches, which make all the difference and really complete the room, include new lighting, funky accessories such as the wood and tapestry stool in the foreground here, and of course, some life with greenery & PLANTS.

And I was so honored to get this testimonial from my client after we finished this room for her:

“I had never worked with a designer before until now, so I was a bit apprehensive. Immediately upon meeting Erin, I felt at ease. She explained the process and took the time to get to know me and my taste so that she could truly reflect who I am in my furnishings. Couldn’t be happier with the way my living room looks now!”—

I LOVE WHAT I DO!

Two years ago...& Today♥️

I shot this video two years ago on the eve of my son leaving for college—and now I need to remind myself of this message again as I prepare for my daughter’s big send off...(choke, gasp....no, I’m not crying! I’m fine! 😭 ).

Maybe at this transitional time of year you need to hear this too—be kind to yourself, keep putting one foot in front of the other, REST, and if your house is out-of-whack right now, this is NORMAL. Really.

I hope this week’s video helps you to give yourself some grace and the space to create order and peace however you can right now. ♥️
